Is anyone familiar with the GED/ABE program at Durham Tech? Currently going to Wake Tech and am very unimpressed. If Durham is better I would like to switch but want to make sure it's worth the extra mileage and travel time.

I don't know about their GED program, but I am currently a student at Durham Tech. I like DTCC much better than WTCC. I like the campus, the office administration and I've had a great experience with all of my instructors (especially the ones in the program I'm in). Hope this helps.

I have heard nothing good about DTCC.

What is it about the program at Wake Tech that you don't like? Can you be more specific?

Honestly, they don't teach. I've been going there for a year and I don't feel like they have "taught". They give the barest of a lesson, eat, check their email and even go on social media. It basically is a self study program. I wanted a classroom with teachers that teach. Otherwise I could stay home and just go online. I have been going there for a year thinking each term that the next teacher would be better but I've had three and not one has been good.

Wow, that sucks! My husband has been a part time student at Durham Tech since 2009 and he has had a very positive experience with his teachers and the overall quality of instruction. He has always seemed engaged in the process and excited about his progress. I think you should check it out.

Thank you for the info. I think I will. I've just been afraid of going from the frying pan to the fire but I really don't think it could get much worse!
