It's splitting hairs, but he's actually not the 20th richest person in the US as the thread title claims, he's 20th on the list of the richest person in each state. He's the 54th richest person in the US according to the Forbes real time list. Some states have more than one person richer than Goodnight--e.g. California has 11 people richer than Goodnight, but only the richest one (currently Zuckerberg at $54.1B) is on the list richest in each state.

Exactly correct. And yes, I believe Goodnight has been the richest person in NC for at least the last 20 years. I might stand corrected, but SAS co-founder John Sall might currently be the second richest in the state as well. |
