In the latest ramification from HB2, the NCAA has decided to relocate scheduled championship games away from NC. This includes 4 championship events in Cary, as well as first- and second-round men's basketball tournament games in Greensboro. Talk about hitting NC where it hurts!
(The NC GOP then claimed that the NCAA was trying to make "cheerleaders and football players share bathrooms, showers and hotel rooms." North Carolina GOP angry about NCAA boycott - POLITICO . Shows their absurdity, if you ask me).
When will our legislature learn? If for no other reason at this point they need to overturn HB2 because of the damage it's causing to our economy. I 100% disagree with HB2 so I may be biased but I'm hoping people see the light and get these idiots out in the election.
I'm not a HB2 supporter but honestly this whole thing is ridiculous with everybody involved from the stupid legislature stoking their own egos at the expense of the state and the hypocrisy of organizations/companies who turn a blind eye to other issues as well.
I don't see the GA losing a Republican edge in the near future until more of our state urbanizes.
What's this "will of the people" you speak of, vulfpeck? Every poll I've seen shows a majority of North Carolinians oppose HB2, and many say that Gov. McCrory is losing to Roy Cooper precisely because of his weak and bungling defense of this bad piece of legislation that costing us millions in lost revenue not to mention national embarrassment.

Maybe, but at least McCrory will be gone. If the new Gov comes out against HB2 then hopefully that will slow the bleeding a little.

The root of the problem is the General Assembly - hopefully it will help but the ultimate solution is to repeal the law through the legislature. It'll be real interesting to see how Cooper can get anything done butting heads against the GA.
To be fair, I think Pat McCrory was a pretty good governor (pretty good in comparison to other politicians lol!) - he wasn't great but he wasn't terrible as well. He had his faults but every politician has their own moral and political scandals........Ultimately his unwillingness to stand up to the GA caused his own undoing. Sad to see.
