Just finished looking at homes in Holly Springs and am considering two nice homes One in in Ballenridge/Avent Glen the other in Arbor Creek.

Ballenridge was a very nice quiet community with nice size homes and yards but no pool

The home in Avent Glen was very similar but I worry about the proximity to the landfill but on the positive side it does have a pool and a couple of playgrounds which would work well for our young son

Anyone have any insight into either subdivision?

Thanks for the help in advance

Which neighborhoods will be most negatively impacted by the coming landfill? What is the direction of the prevailing wind? I have seen some nice homes for sale in Arbor Creek, VERY reasonably priced......is this why?

I don't think the landfill has anything to do with the lower prices in Arbor Creek. Its just the location: Holly Springs. It is a bit further to RTP and malls than some areas, like Cary. Holly Springs real estate is less expensive per square foot than Cary. Arbor Creek is more of a starter home neighborhood.

If you have the map that the town of Holly Springs puts out, it shows exactly where the landfill will be.

As far as how often you'd smell it or how far from the landfill any smells would be, you would have to do some research or ask the town of Holly Springs for advice. Sorry I can't help further.
