It's unsavory to me. That's all.

Bad choice.

The NAACP spoke out in support of her "advocacy record," not in support of her.

I think they just didn't want to admit they'd been duped. I know I would not want to admit that if I was in their position.
I am curious as heck what the book will be about. HER struggles? Or, her witness?

I value advocacy records.

Oh, I absolutely appreciate advocacy.

I just think the way she presented herself was so very wrong. Very.

And it's ridiculous for the TOC to invite her here to speak. People already think Cary is a rich, white, snooty suburb and now this crap.

Cary News
TOC Needs a press release on this, mentioning what taxpayer-supported microphones, facilities are being used, etc. based on today's national news coverage:

CaryCitizen | Harold’s Blog: Town Elections, Dreamfest and More

quote:
Featured guests will include Rachael Dolezal who is an American civil rights activist and former Africana studies instructor. She was president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) chapter in Spokane, Washington, from 2014 until June 15, 2015, when she resigned following allegations that she had lied about her racial identity and other aspects of her biography. In addition, Royce Mann will be attending. He is the 14 year old that had the poem “White boy privilege” go viral. The 2017 Dreamfest promises to even be bigger and better than last year’s. I can’t wait.

Really glad it's getting national coverage. Someone else needs to run this annual event. IMO it's completely shameful to have this fraud there, and surely Cary can come up with someone African-American to speak at the MLK event?!

It is a panel. She is one person proposed for the panel.

Been some interesting twisting by the mayor in his weekly blog over the past few weeks. From the "I can't wait" attitude of August to his "I had no role in this" responses to people questioning it more recently.

We have enough white privilege, we don't need to appropriate this panel as well ...
