First time home buyer, looking at Magnolia Village in Clayton, near Flowers Plantation. I live in Raleigh now. Is that part of Clayton ok? Ideas/Thoughts about Centex??

Hi! We just moved to Clayton a couple of months ago. Before that, we were searching for a new home in Clayton area and Centex's Magnolia is one of them. We went there and checked it out. Unfortunately, the house there does not meet our needs.

The subdivision is nice there, yes, but unless you don't mind houses sit too close to each other and tiny lot. We prefer a new house with a bigger lot because we like to grow a garden, a dog to run around in our yard, and kids to play.

The price is very reasonable there. We've been inside of several model homes and it wasn't too bad at all. It's just the lot that turned us off. You might like it if you don't mind about the lot.

We bought a new house in Flowers Plantation area and are very please with it. You might want to check at our area and see if you like it.

Good luck on house hunting

Default I'm a fan of Centex.

I don't live in a Centex home myself, but I do like their home plans. My wife and I usually go on the parade-of-homes each fall, and out of all of the homes we've been in, the one we liked the best was a Stratford II home from Centex.

I currently live in Holly Springs, so I'm not too familiar with Clayton, so I can't tell you anything about that part of town.
