Does anyone have any pointers or know of good sources on the internet for learning more about appraisals and/or how to handle lower than expected appraisals?

Our house is under contract now, and the appraisal will be coming up quickly. Just want to make sure that we've educated ourselves

Thanks!

Here is a great site that explains the appraisal process in detail:

I hope this helps!

Here's another website you might find helpful if you know the address & will be living in Wake county:

http://msweb01.co.wake.nc.us/realestate/search.asp (broken link)

or Zillow.com

You can do your own analysis... Good luck.
