For the second time in two months, an accident has shut down a pipeline supplying gasoline to millions of people across the Southeast, raising the specter of another round of gas shortages and price increases.

The disruption occurred when a dirt-moving track hoe struck the pipeline, ignited gasoline and caused an explosion Monday, killing one worker and injuring five others, Colonial Pipeline said. Flames and thick black smoke continued to soar on Tuesday, and firefighters built an earthen berm to contain the burning fuel.

I already filled all my cars, my trucks, my cans, I also filled my bath tubes at home, just in case. The odor is annoying but better than taking the risk to not have gasoline. I also ordered and bought all the cans available at Lowes, HomeDepot, Menards, dollar tree, and more.

If you think I miss some, thanks to let me know, I will stop everything I am doing and go get them.

I have a friend who drives a tanker truck. He's been on FB all morning spreading the doom and gloom, about how terrible it's going to be. I say hogwash. Last one wasn't bad once the initial rush was over.

Will this get as crazy as last time? I saw long lines at the pump. It was crazy. I've got 3/4 of a tank. Should last me for a few days.

It's a little different this time since both pipelines were damaged in the explosion.

But hopefully no big deal.

The noon news reported that the #2 pipeline which supplies aviation, diesel, and heating fuels was not effected. However the #1 pipeline (auto gas) is effected and no estimate when that will be be repaired.
