I like the remodel actually. Happy to pay a few more cents or dollars to pick stuff up in one place. They kept the meats, prepared foods, veggies (even expanded there), still have tons of one off strange brands and products I never see anywhere else, killed some of the stuff I never got anyway, and added convenience items. I'm not buying deodorant there, yet, but my avg purchase has gone way up. Didn't think it would work for me, but it is.
The actual meat department employees at my location are not the problem--if they're actually there. The staff have endured a lot of cuts in hours, so you might end up getting waited on at the meat counter by someone who is supposed to be in another department, and not trained to do the meat counter properly. I try not to be too critical, especially when it's obvious they've been "drafted" to cover the meat counter, since I've been in situations like that in my own job and I know what a drag it is. Ever since they changed the uniforms you can tell what area they should be in.
Article also references a shocking rating of the company as the "Fourth Worst Company to Work For in America", hinting it may have helped push Anicetti out the door. They out-scored SEARS for goodness sake!

I worked there years ago and the falls of neuse store was great to work and employees were competent and like family. I struggled at Cameron village because managment were inept and the emplyees were slack as hell. Had never been trained and no interest in learning the correct protocol.
