Who should I look to hire to put up a design, maybe herringbone pattern, for an accent wall with reclaimed wood? I put up a picture of what I'm talking about. Would a trim carpenter be able to do this? Or I guess any handyman also but we haven't had good experiences with handymen doing everything, since that requires someone to be a little knowledgeable about everything and not a master of something.

In addition, any suggestions of who to hire in the Cary area for this kind of work? Someone suggested Artisan Living Spaces, owner is Rolando. There's also a handyman everyone suggested in neighborhood that does built-in work, so I could ask him.

Before anyone asks, I would like to take on this myself, but don't know how I would do it with kids and work. Where would I find reclaimed wood for the handyman? Easiest place to get it and a range of shades/colors?

You can buy wood like that at Lowes. Those types of installations are so popular now, you can just buy the wood.

I have a friend who did a headboard out of this stuff. Nailed it right to the wall.

Looks nice.

There is a variety of these types of reclaimed, recycled, re-purposed wood on our area. Habitat ReStore, Capital City Lumber, Diamond Hill, Plunkett-Webster, etc.

Some choices are even available at the home improvement centers.

You will need a trim carpenter and a ¾" plywood backboard that is "picture-framed" so that the design can easily be removed when you sell your home.
