I am trying to find a new job and so far I haven't had any luck. I've been applying for jobs on indeed, monster, career builder, and dice. I've had a few phone interviews, but that's it.

I've also talked with some recruiters from the large staffing firms, but they haven't been able to get me any interviews.

So I am reaching out to see if anyone knows of any companies that are hiring.

From your other posts, I'm betting your applying from out of state? Florida? From what I've seen, being a non resident makes it VERY difficult to find a job in The Triangle unless you have a specialized skill.

Are you on LinkedIn and using it effectively? You absolutely should be.

I agree with using LinkedIn. My husband is in IT and often gets contacted by recruiters. He works for the state and plans to stay until he retires. Here is a link for the state's office of personnel. Good Luck!

Definitely linkedin for IT jobs. I get multiple contacts a week on there. Also try specific company websites instead, you'll have more luck that way.

Look at the Northrop Grumman website. They have a lot of contract positions in companies like USPS.

You may also want to look at universities, colleges and healthcare systems in the area as they tend to have IT vacancies.

You should be able to get a contract job from recruitment agencies, only problem is the pay will be low. I majored in Computer IT, if you are considering as a new career, I just wanted to make sure you do enough research.

IT is becoming more and more terrible and overrated. You never know when the job will end, a lot of outsourcing, they hire you as a contractor for $11 an hour and will never make you permanent. It's also very competitive, so unless you don't mind doing help desk or tech support, it's very hard to find someone decent. If you're tech savvy, I would recommend programming or development since that's what really hot now.
