Searching for a "Peach Pit" type stop (drive-thru even better!) that serves mouth-watering burgers and sandwiches and steak fries. I'd accept non-steak fries, too, but would prefer the thick cut ones.

Not many drive thrus other than fast food. But Five Guys (in Stonecreek) has good burgers. I've also heard good things about Abbey Road. I know Five Guys doesn't have steak fries, and I'm not sure about Abbey Road.

Char Grill is a Raleigh institution! There is one in Cary by Fresh Market... the burgers are great and the owners/staff are friendly!! I don't think they have steak fries... I think they were just the thick ones. I'm not much of a fry eatter... I save my fat grams for the hamburger. YUM!

You have to try "2 Guys Grill" in the Harris Teeter shopping center on Davis Drive/ McCrimmon Parway. Great burgers, sandwiches, and your choice of fries: Steak fries, skinny fries, or sweet potato fries.

I think Andy's Cheesburgers on Davis is good and what about Cook-Out? That's definitely a drive thru! Great shakes too!

Have you ever been to a Steak N Shake? They have good burgers. There is one in Raleigh somewhere. Maybe near the Crabtree Mall? Not sure. They don't have steak fries either.

For burgers I frequently hear
  • 5 Guys
  • Abbey Road
  • Cook Out
  • Red Robin

Abbey Road is the way to go. Its a whole in the wall place, but they have great homemade burgers (they grind the meat themselves).
