And, here is an easy-to-use slide show that shows those arrested at NCGA, among others.

.
Any thoughts on why these are being classed as Class I misdemeanors? According to Misdemeanors Explained: Types of Misdemeanors/Penalties, it seems that at most they should be Class II, which would include "... disorderly conduct, resisting a police officer...".

I was at the protest on Thursday and know many folks who were there including some who were arrested. There were no paid protestors and George Soros had nothing to do with it (although he has given money to many different causes, just as wealthy people of all political leanings do).

The NC NAACP does have a legal defense fund. The protests are designed to get the most media coverage because that's the whole point of any protest — to call attention to the thing they're protesting. That may include arrests if the police choose to do that. The protests are non-violent. The people have a right to observe the House and the Senate from the galleries.

Typically a handful of attorneys handle these pro bono and they end up being dismissed. If anyone is reading this that was arrested and charged with trespassing needs representation feel free to PM me. I'm an attorney that practices criminal defense in Wake County and will be glad to assist.
