I have recently purchased a mahogany table and 6 chairs, and the table has several scratches. I'm looking for someone reasonably priced who can re-finish the table top. Any recommendations in the Raleigh area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I highly recommend River Bend Studio in Durham. We had a 120 year old quarter sewn oak dining room table refinished a couple of years ago and they did an amazing job! The man who owns the company has been doing this full time for 20 years. We've referred several people there and they have all been extremely pleased.

Mumford Restoration. We have had them do 100+ year old antique furnishings and they not only preserved the value but also made them brand new. Amazing work!! I cannot speak highly enough about their work.

Antique repair/refinishing is one area where you truely get what you pay for. Do not look for a bargain, look instead at examples of work and process.

Good luck
