I'm relocating from Indiana to Durham.I just wanted a change and I think this would be good.I wanted to know about the jobs.I'm a Medical Assistant.I do have kids so I wanted to know about the school and if the middle school have lots of extra activities. Also is the apartments reasonable.I have a 4 bedroom apt and we pay 900 a month.I really don't want to pay that much but I also don't want to be in a bad area.So I will pay for what I want. Can anyone give me some info.PLEASE Thanks

A 4 BR apt will not be easy to find and definitely not for $900. Three BR is available in quite a few places.

You may see much lower salary here. Check before burning your bridges.

I would suggest that you look in the southern portion of Durham. When we moved down, we bought off Woodcroft Parkway. You can easily own for $900 a month down here. Rents and mortgages will cost you about the same (for same square footage and comparable design), depending on the area. Our salaries ended up being higher here than what we had back in MA. You should be able to do fine in your field.

Good luck and welcome.
