I'd be happy if it never went above 70 again.

Not happening here, I know! *lol*

I don't think this weather is that unusual, really. We typically get a nice warm spell sometime in Feb. It will get cold again.

I have pix that my kiddo took last year of violets and dandelions and ajuga in bloom about this week last year. 2015 was a cold one with that really vicious cold spell in Feb with the polar vortex and then the big wet snow. Violets and crocuses were late that year and blooming the first week of March. I have pix of daffodils the second week of March 2015. We were in t-shirts the first week of Feb 2014 and then snow the second week of Feb 2014 and short sleeves and shorts and daffodils and forsythia blooming Feb 23rd 2014. At the end of Feb 2012, we had the trout lilies and spring beauties blooming. They're not out yet this year that I have seen. Should be any day now, though. I have pix of my kids Feb 27 2011 in shorts and t-shirts.
The 80° thing is a dream; the first 90° day usually comes around April or May. I wouldn't mind a repeat of 2013 weather wise since we didn't have many of those terrible high heat days. I'm just glad that we don't get many tornadoes around these parts (now that's something that I really want to go and stay away)

I saw on WRAL this morning that this is the second warmest Feb. so far on record since WWll. After that first warmest Feb. we had one of the coldest Marches on record.

I've learned to enjoy daffodils for that reason. I see them in bloom on some local Raleigh Instagram accounts but mine are just putting up leaves. I'll take it, and the 50-60 degree days we've been having!

I'm with you. If I'm going to deal with extremes, I'd rather it be hot than cold.

Half of my daffodils are in bloom. The ones around the tree though are still putting up leaves.

Yeah, I don't think anything would stick, but it could still get cold and precipitatious. I was hoping for a nice sunny warm weekend myself.
