Thank you for all the suggestions! I have looked into some of the other areas mentioned, but the thing that concerns me most are the schools. I have elementary school (and one soon to be in middle school) kids. The main reason why I want to leave Fayetteville is because we haven't had good experience with the schools here. This has been the worst place we've ever lived as far as schools go. And yes, the commute would be to Bragg. We went up to the triangle area yesterday, going up through Lillington, Angier, Garner... came home the usual way we come home when we go up there, going down US 1 to 87 and that's so much faster, even if it's longer mileage-wise, so we decided for sure that we'd want to live in an area with easy access to US 1. Going 210 to 401 etc had too much traffic to make the commute any shorter, plus a part of the way is 2 lane roads. Still open to looking in those areas though. Husband doesn't mind driving an hour plus each way, but I'd still rather find something closer if possible. We won't be moving until June.

I live in Fayetteville since I stayed here after leaving the Army. I drive to Raleigh to visit my sister quite often. Cary would be a nice location. Holly Springs and Fuquay Varina are also nice options for "family" friendly locations. Do you know what part of post your hubby will be working? Things will be different if he's going to be working in the southern part of post as opposed to the northern part. WHere will he working?
