Are there private yards in 12 Oaks? I remember driving through there and I thought everything was packed in there pretty well.

To answer your question, as someone said there are not a lot of these types of neighborhoods in N. Raleigh but the one that comes to mind is Bedford.
also- would we be likely to find the same social connections if we joined one of the swim/tennis clubs in north raleigh?

I think young families with small kids (babies, toddlers) get new homes... Of course not all. Our home is 11 years old and I swear our entire street is filled with 8 to 12 year olds lol. My friend moved to a brand new home and they are surrounded by toddlers. Their might be something to this, not sure. I think too in a brand new build, everybody is moving in fresh and no prior connections made (like the 1st weeks of college). They are all hanging out and getting to know each other. The people that were the originals on our street are their own little club lol... their is def a bond there that those of us that came later don't have. Just a thought and observation.

I immediately thought of falls River/Bedford based on what you're looking for. Wide range in prices and you can easily find something under that price range. Tons of young families, active mom's groups and lots of parks and playgrounds. Two swim clubs - one for Bedford that is included in hoa and falls River has one that you join. Great school district too.

As others have said Brier Creek, Bedford, or Wakefield are all good. We are in Wakefield and have been here since our kids were 5 and 3 and love the convenience, safety, and friendliness of the neighborhood and its people

We are in Bedford with two little kids and couldn't be happier.
Tons of young families and a great pool.
It checks all the boxes you have mentioned.

Thank you in advance for the ongoing kindness in help.

Try Ethans Glen. About 160-200 homes, all less than 10-15 years old. Pool and clubhouse. You might be able to find something between $550 and $600K.

There is a new section of Ethan's Glen called The Meadows of Ethan's Glen. I believe it starts at $475K and goes up.
