Doherty's for sure will have it. I'd imagine it would be easy to find today. I'd wager most "pub" esque places will have it as a special. It's the classic AmericanIrish dish. My mother is from Dublin. She never had it until she moved to the states.
Yeah, I think it was adopted by the Irish community as a cheaper alternative to their traditional Pork cuts, from living in close proximity to Jewish immigrants.

Tra'li Irish Pub in Morrisville always has it, and it's quite good. It's one of my favorite places in the Triangle.
There's one in Brier Creek too.....
