Any suggestions of spots to get a good fried fish sandwich between Brier Creek and Falls of Neuse, somewhere near the I 540 corridor?

I've seen recommendations of places in Durham, Apex, and Cary - and I'm familiar with the spots in Wake Forest, but I'm looking for something a bit closer.

That's a tall order for the area you are requesting.

Driftwood has a blackened catfish sandwich. I'm sure they can fry it for you though. It's in Lafayette Village:
Driftwood Southern Kitchen

Not what you asked for but my fave sandwich place is Nashers. On Durant very close to Falls of Neuse. Should you ever want to check them out:

Oh, I am very familiar with Nashers, and eat there almost any time I'm in the area (I sometimes find some reason to make a special trip to the dump on Durant just to stop by and grab a sandwich). It's still excellent, although they have seemed to have slacked off just a tad from their initial quality the first few months they were open. That said, they're not quite as slow as they were at the beginning either. And to the best of my knowledge, they don't offer a fish sandwich either!

Nashers doesn't. Which is so sad because it would probably be delicious. I don't live too far from them so I don't have to make up quite so many excuses to go, lol. Glad to find another fan. They seem to not be well known.

I really racked my brain to try to think of a fish sandwich spot for you. I spend a lot of time between Briar Creek and Falls of Neuse and nothing came to mind.

Sorry

If you do find one I'd love to know where and hear your review!

I'm going to continue being well intentioned but not useful:
Jack's Seafood on New Bern and Rock Quarry Rd has fish sandwiches and their food is legit. When in the area of one of their locations well worth a stop.

Northside Fish Market. Brentwood Square South Shopping Center, The area has seen better days but it remains the only spot for a good old fish Sandwich in North Raleigh. Google them. Fresh catch you pick it from behind the glass and they cook it up. also avail. with fries, etc.

I've never had their fish sandwich, but how about the Hibernian Irish Pub on Falls of Neuse? Piper's Tavern, also on Falls, has a fish sandwich. I think they both offer fish and chips, too. May not be the type of fish fry or fish sandwich you are looking for, though. Shuckers in Wake Forest also offers a fish sandwich.

I've had good fish and chips more than once at the Hibernian.

Not North Raleigh, but NC Seafood Restaurant at The Farmers Market has some great fish sandwiches.

Maybe you could get someone to sell them off the side of the road like they do in Durham sometimes.
