Sorry but they are not "baby lady bugs ". Lady bugs (or more properly known as lady bird beetles) exhibit a complete metamorphosis: egg, larvae, pupa and adult. Ladybird eggs produce larvae that undergo four instars before pupating, metamorphosing, and giving rise to adults. When the adult emerges from the pupal case, it is as big as it is going to get.

Maybe "no see-ums"?

But I was talking to someone a little north of here last week, and he was wearing white, and there were little flying bugs all over him and landing on him. They almost looked like flying ants but whimpier. Was weird. I never saw bugs swarm all over someone like that. They didn't touch me, but I wasn't wearing white.

I wonder what they are.
