We replaced two TWC/Spectrum lines into the house, a 100Mbps (home + wife's job) and a ~50Mbps business class line (my job) with a single Google Fiber 1 gigabit line. Paying $70/month.
Paying less than before for much more bandwidth and it has been working wonderfully. In my job, I'm especially appreciative of the upload speed. Blazing.
Has anyone successfully had AT&T waive the connection fee for fiber installation?
Someone mentioned that AT&T has eliminated the $30 fee they assessed if you request that they don't monitor your traffic. Have they stopped snooping altogether or is it simply free to have them stop snooping after a simple request?
Frontier internet $39.95 for 6Mbps down 512K up (not sure of the upstream speed, it's minimal) We've had a lot of problems with it recently where the download speed will go to close to zero. Frontier support is not very good. They always want me to reset my router for a speed problem. Reset means wipe out all settings and start from scratch.
I can't get Google fiber, at least not yet. And a report from someone who has it suggested it might be very pricey, like $100 / month.
I hate Frontier with all of my being. It took me 6 weeks and 5 hours of phone time to get my account appropriately closed. The worst customer service experience of my lifetime.
I have been reading that the Spectrum CEO feels that TWC had priced their services too low and will not honor the prices after the promo period expires.
I'm getting fiber installed (just authorized the fiber drop on my property) and will be getting 1 Gb service for 80. I figure a.) Spectrum is going up anyway and b.) I'm sick of the annual dog and pony show just to retain the rate with Spectrum.
