The list(s) will change with supermarkets Publix, Walmart Neighborhood Market, and Wegman's; limited assortment/discount grocer Lidl; and specialty organic grocer Sprouts Farmers Market entering markets and opening additional stores.

I don't know it you've read the articles online about the Aldi + Lidl effect in the UK. Several chains are being effected. The chain taking the worst hit is Walmart-owned Asda. The question in my mind is who takes the worst hit, Walmart or Food Lion. Will that differ in different areas?
I'm assuming that Lidl isn't going into Danville. Currently, the Aldis in proximity to Lidl are undergoing remodels. Almost every Aldi will be undergoing a remodel, eventually.
The remodeled Aldi stores have about 1/3 more products.
Actually, Lidl is building a store in Danville, but it got a late start compared to those being built in NC. IIRC, there was an issue or two that had to be worked out with the Danville city council. Admittedly, I haven't been to Aldi since it got remodeled recently. I might take another swing by there within the next week or two. I know the Lidl in Wilson is supposed to open sometime this summer. I'm not sure when the others will open.

The store that I went into had expanded produce, which was all nice. The refrigerated & frozen cases had some items that used to be marked seasonal, or were brought in as weekly specials. There were fewer snack items & other non-perishable sections seemed to be expanded.

I saw a couple of articles online that said that they will open this summer in VA, NC, & SC. They will open later in the year in MD, DE, & the Philadelphia market.
I have found certain items at Aldi that I prefer. I don't know anyone who does all of their shopping at Aldi. The trick is taking advantage of weekly specials.
I purposely left Save-A-Lot (2 Locations), Costco (3 Locations), BJ's (3 Locations), and Sam's (4 Locations) off the list. I actually ran out of colors to represent on the map.
El Mandado appeared on Compare Foods' website.I didn't know whether or not to put a pin down for Compare Foods or not.
I hope part of the Aldi improvements is to hire more than one checkout cashier. I use to go there occasionally but it got to be very depressing just to walk in. Maybe I will give it another try.
I have been to the new Sprouts a few times and don't see the magic. Maybe I'm spoiled with so many great stores very close by. Expected more ......
