You are amazing, Reknowned. Such a generous use of your time to prepare this. Gotta love that Piggly Wiggly in downtown Pittsboro

I never would have guessed there were so many Food Lions. I guess it just seems like HT reigns supreme.

I'm jealous. Y'all have all the good stores. Meanwhile in Damnville, Harris Teeter left in 2010, Aldi ain't what it used to be, the Food Lion stores are woefully outdated compared to those in NC, the Walmart supercenter always looks like Franklin Street in Chapel Hill when Roy brings the trophy home and the Piggly Wiggly looks and smells like ass.

This is a good list. I would like to take the list further examining grocery retailers in specific counties, specifically Wake, Durham, and Orange.

Food Lion has more stores than other supermarkets (Harris Teeter, IGA (Carlie C's), Kroger, Lowe's Foods, Publix, Walmart Neighborhood Market). It continues to face challenges and setbacks that may work against it.

When Food Lion places Walmart's Walmart Supercenter and Walmart Neighborhood Market stores in Danville, Virginia, on a level of Wegman's, something is interesting about the grocery retail market.

I'm assuming that Lidl isn't going into Danville. Currently, the Aldis in proximity to Lidl are undergoing remodels. Almost every Aldi will be undergoing a remodel, eventually.

The remodeled Aldi stores have about 1/3 more products.

I agree. It's a very good list. I'd like to see the OP redo it in 6 months & again in a year, to see who will take the hit from Lidl opening this summer, & how long it takes.
