Hello all,

I am wondering approximately how many days it takes for IKEA to deliver furniture from ordering online?

In addition, I have a silly question. I am living close to the border between two zipcodes. Unfortunate the zipcode for my address comes with $249 for IKEA delivery. But it is only $99 for the zipcode across the street. Is there a way that I can bargain on this?

Thanks!

Do you have a neighbor across the street you can have it delivered to?

Does the website not give a delivery time estimate?

There is a company called NC Modern furniture ( you can google it) that goes to Ikea Charlotte almost everyday and delivers furniture to the Triangle. They will usually either match IKEA delivery prices or beat them so you might be able to negotiate on location based on that. Usually you can get your item within just a couple days which can be faster than Ikea. Also they will quote for assembly if you are not up to the task. We found a large glass table which would not fit in our car and also a bed at Ikea so used them twice with great success. If an item is broken they will even return for you and/or exchange.

Since the furniture includes a mattress, I try not to bother my friends across the street

Look into using NC Modern Furniture for delivery. They go to Ikea weekly, and it can often be cheaper than Ikea's ridiculous delivery fees.

Just checked their website, and the delivery fee will be even more as they charge 15% of the total order cost... But thanks for the information.

Yes their website says that but you can call them and try to get a better deal, especially if you live close to their headquarters on Westgate Road in Raleigh.

Well, it'll probably be cheaper if you can't get the $99 delivery to your zip code (which I wouldn't expect IKEA to be interested in negotiating something that's probably an automatic calculation in their system)

Unless you're spending more than $1600 ...

Skip the Idea mattress. They're terrible. Try Leesa or Brooklyn Bedding. We love ours from BB. Or read this blog: www.Streetopolis.com
