What is the table top fire for? Do you cook something at the table or is it for 'atmosphere'

I pictured table top fires even after seeing the photos before Don6170 posted.

Thought it looked familiar! Went to college at Salem State and went here a few times. Chinese is definitely one of the things on my list of foods to get when we go back to Mass.

There's a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant in Greensboro called ZC Hawaiian. Not sure if it's the food or atmosphere you're craving. The place in Greensboro is more quick service in a strip mall so don't think they have any little fires at the table, but they get really good reviews: https://www.yelp.com/biz/zc-hawaiian-bbq-greensboro-3

Also a Hawaiian food truck out of Asheboro, maybe they'd come to the Triangle? https://www.facebook.com/Atouchofaloha/

Yeah it's all about the over-breaded, insanely greasy, americanized Chinese food, and tropical drinks that are so strong you would think they were poured with 93 octane.

Seems like it's kind of a Massachusetts thing. PF Changs may be the closest you can come here.

One has to wonder if anything like these exist anywhere in Polynesia. Like the Chinese food in Asia being nothing like it is in most places in the US.
