Laying low this holiday weekend but want some sort of reward.

I have read about Bruster's and Goodberry's, seems can't miss with either but am sure there are others

there are numerous places - even the Whole Foods has great gelato - to where I wouldn't suggest driving past 4 others to get to the "best". So, the nearest major intersection where you live would help.

Thanks and I wouldn't mind driving to the right place, but anywhere in the Millbrook / Six Forks area would be close

If you're in the mood for a ride, Sunni Skys in Angier.

There really aren't many "country ice cream stand" type places around here, which is surprising to me. Everything's in a strip mall. Kind of ruins the experience.

It is worth the drive and this weekend you may see hot air balloons also.

I know you already mentioned it, but Goodberry's is excellent.

Goodberry's is actually frozen custard, which to me is even better than ice cream

Fresh Local Ice Cream, they have locations in Raleigh and in Cary. I think they are much better than Goodberry's.

The Parlour in Durham is fantastic, their salted butter caramel is delicious.

We actually didn't like Goodberry's at all.

My favorite ice cream is McD's oreo McFlurry with added fudge......Mmmmmmmmmmmm.....
