Anybody else been down to check out the house Extreme Makeover Home Edition is doing on Poplar Street in the historic Mordecai neighborhood? I walked over there on my lunch break today to take in the scene. The house looks awesome. I was really scared they were going to build some monstrocity that wouldn't fit the style of the older neighborhodd, but they have done and excellent job making it fit the style of the area. I was only down there for 20 minutes but I saw Ty Pennington com out of the Lunch tent and give some folks autographs. THere were onyl about 100 or so peopel down there when I was there so it wasn't too much of a mob scene. I really love these historic neighborhoods here in Raleigh. I know some have seen better days, but the all have a lot of character. I only wish I could have aforded to live closer to downtown in one of them, but alas I can only offord suburbia!
Is that going to be on one of his shows on Sunday night, and when? I was in the fabric store today, and heard someone mention his name, but didn't know why.
Yes Debbie, this is being filmed fto be aired on ABC on a Sunday night in the future. Don't know the date just yet, but if I find out I will post it on the board.
That's cool. Some of my coworkers went to see it all and said it's gonna look great. I hear this family really deserves the help, seeing as they do a lot for the community. Glad this is happening. (I'm sure the neighbors will be happy when it's all done!)

Not as high as you probably think...I've seen quite a few houses in Mordecai listing in the upper 100s and lower 200s before. Not very many, and they may be a bit smaller than newer houses of course, but they're there.
(Now go several blocks south to Oakwood, and it's a bit of a jump upwards.)
