Hey cadillac, up here in Wake Forest pretty much every house we looked at before moving here had a basement................ Why wouldnt anyone want free storage space? Good luck!!

I think in their case they were having backups. The plumber had to send one of those little cameras through the plumbing to figure out what was happening. Their issue was literally in the middle of the house, so they didn't visually see anything. The floor was tiled over the site of the problem, and there was no evidence of the issue other than the actual plumbing problems.

Most or all of the water supply can come down from within the framing, so all you're talking about is the drainage lines, which are not under pressure and not likely to break. Also keep in mind that virtually any commercial building you've ever been in is on a slab -shopping centers, hospitals, office buildings, restaurants.
