This is terrible advice. Points will go on your license (though not a huge problem unless you get a bunch more tickets) and it will be a mark on your insurance (which is a big deal as your rates will go up for 3 years). You'll pay way more than the costs to hire an attorney to handle it for you over those three years.
Yes, to be clear if there is one single thing that people who search this forum should take away from these ticket threads - never ever ever ever just pay the ticket unless you are purposely trying to accept the (overwhelmingly statistically) worst possible financial outcome, for whatever reason.
Yeah I would agree that NC is relatively lax about pulling people over compared to some other states.
Agreed. I usually check this website a couple of times per month to figure out where the speed traps are & do my best to avoid those areas (or watch my speed in them if I must drive through there).
I am 38 years old and I have a very clean driving record.I got my first speeding ticket last week in concord NC. When I was driving at 65/mph on 55/mph limit.
Could some one please suggest me what should I do ? Weather I should pay the fine online ? or I should fight this ticket myself in court ? or I should I hire a lawyer. Please suggest I would be very thankful
Thanks
Aamir
Probably be cheapest to hire a lawyer to go to court for you. Main thing is it is your first ticket. Usually a lawyer can get you off without it going on your record to cost you in insurance. Otherwise you will pay high insurance for three years. That can get really expensive.
I'm a lawyer. Feel free to PM me if you want me to walk you through handling it on your own or to help finding you someone to represent you.
