All the stuff I've seen said the plan is completely for them to stay here so it might be a good thing if the new owners will spend a buck or two.

$500 million was the upfront cost to buy an expansion team, a la, Vegas Golden Knights.

This Hurricanes team is fully assembled, and will be a playoff contender this year.

With a good arena.

It isn't MY $500 million, but it compares nicely to the Vegas $500 millon, IMO.

Then there are the $3.5 BILLION Dallas Cowboys.... O.o

Dallas Cowboys again ranked most valuable sports franchise - UPI.com

I'd rather have one Cowboys team than seven Hurricanes.

Who's to say they won't move the team in a few years? I really don't want to see the Canes go, but they really need to start producing and getting more butts in the seats. If not, I'm not sure how long they will survive in this market.

It's frustrating how expensive it's gotten to go to the games. Just the parking alone is $15 last year. Not to mention the tickets, convenience fees, and food inside the arena has gone up as well from a few years back. I think that would have been fine if the team was as strong as in the past but the more recent years have been a bit of a let down. That being said, I still love going to the games and would be more prone to go if prices were lower. I wish they would drop the prices a bit to get more people in the stands. Make up the price difference with quantity.
