(Yes, I'm joking)

Or, just meet as a group at the previously identified best pizza place in the area and view after lunch

I'd prefer a true New York style deli. Guess I'm out of luck.

This would actually make for an excellent CD meetup! Except for the during the workday part. But, it would.

I would host it at my tinderbox, but I live in Cary and I just searched all of Amazon and could not find any Beige viewing glasses. My HOA would never approve it.

(kidding: I live in a well-built house, no HOA)

I agree! It should be the same weekend as a Clemson home football game!

Good point, if the only thing going on is a Clemson game, than 99.44% of North Carolinians should be free, with nothing better to do than stare at the sun.

(Couldn't resist)

We've changed plans a little and grabbed one of the last rooms available in Orangeburg...planning to head down on Sunday if the weather looks good. May try to get closer to the center line for the eclipse itself, but if things are just completely jammed up, at least we'll already be within the path.

I have been asking around for about a month re: where to find/buy eclipse glasses AROUND HERE (not online) and other than the Lowe's tip (I'll have to go check that out, thx) - does anyone know where I can find them?

I saw them for sale at the Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill when I was there Sunday
