Hi Everyone! I am moving to Clayton and was looking into the middle schools. The houses I'm interested in are based with either Riverwood or Archer Lodge Middle Schools. I've checked the testing scores for these schools and they seem to be fine. However, I know that the Clayton area is booming right now and overcrowding is a possible issue. Can any parents give me their personal opinions about the good/bad/ugly of either these 2 schools? Your assistance is much appreciated.

We live in Riverwood. I have a child who attends Riverwood Middle School, and 2 other children in Riverwood Elementary School. The schools are definitely much busier than where we came from, but it seems like JoCo has classroom sizes under control. My kids have done just fine, we don't have any complains. If I had to pick a negative, it would be that there is no bus system for kids that attend RES, or RMS. They are either walkers, or parent drop off/pick up. Like me, I have to be to work too early to take them, so If there is inclement weather I have to go to work late in order to drop them off. They usually walk, and it is about 8-10 minutes from our house with little traffic. The high school zoned for Riverwood I think is Corinth Holder which they will be bussed to/from.
