I have this in my trunk and it inflates very quickly. I wouldn't waste time trying to find an air machine, especially a free one. I also keep the one with the slime built in since I removed the run flats from my car. Better to be safe than sorry.

I second this recommendation. The convenience is worth it. Matter of fact, I've been putting off buying a second one for my wife's car.
However, to the OP, if you must pay for air and don't have change, many of the new gas station air-vac systems accept cards and can even be programmed for the exact pressure you need.
The mere fact that most people drive to get air in their tires makes their inflation inaccurate as tires are supposed to be filled when cold...
Cold and preferably in a garage. Cars parked outside may have tires in the sun and they will gain a few psi.
Or don't worry about it and fill them up a few psi over and then measure in the morning before driving off.
Most digital gauges have a bleed off button to let air out while measuring.
