I guess I just don't get it. I love dogs, but why in the world would you think your dog wants to go to a movie theatre? I think an event like this is more for people who psychologically depend on their pet for emotional support.

Yes, I agree.

I like dogs, I like taking my dog places. I like going to breweries with my dog. I like going to the park with my dog. I'll swing into a Lowes or Ace Hardware with my dog for a short trip, although don't try to bring him there "on purpose." I like eating on an outdoor porch with my dog.

But a movie theater? Seriously strange place to want to bring your dog. One, its dark, with a lot of food allover. The dog is bound to end up gross if it gets into the sticky. Two, its dark, with other dogs, and I feel like that's a recipe for a fight. Three, its dark, with a MOVIE, that even well socialized adjusted dogs might react strangely too.

My weirdo super-extrovert dog would love it, BUT, I would never take her because she would never sit there and would instead fight me the entire time to lick the floor.

We couldn't even last at Bark in the Park (Durham Bulls game) for more than 45 minutes.

Outdoors seems better but I'm intrigued by the whole thing.

I don't get it either. Seems like a rather bad idea. I don't go to that theatre anyway though so don't care much, even if it's supported by my taxes. If someone finds it needed and enjoyable then good for them. I bet someone is paying for the things I enjoy that they don't use either.

Wouldn't bother me, but I wouldn't take our two nuts. They'd be way too much trouble.

If it's as loud as it is at most theaters, my dogs would have heart attacks! Heck, I can't even stand to be in theaters anymore due to the volume. My ears hurt!

Same here. It's much too loud. I miss the big theaters. I just don't care for these small movie theaters with steep steps.

Exactly what I was thinking. And their hearing is more sensitive than ours. I can't imagine this would be enjoyable to them at all.

When Terminator 2 came out DH and I went to see it in the theatre and as soon as the previews started the sound was so loud it was painful. During a break between trailers someone shouted "TURN IT DOWN" LOL it was so funny, I have sensitive hearing so I thought it was me (and the theatre did listen).
