I got an email from Google saying that their youtube TV service is now live in the Raleigh Durham area. You can sign up for a 14 day trial. I cant post the link as it will just take you to my account and not the sign up page.
I had a neighbor mention this to me a couple of days ago. I signed up for them to let me know when it would be available and I didn't get squat from them. I'll have to check it out, although it only works on google chromecast apparently. I wish it also worked the firestick/fire TV.

It looks like there is an Android App for it. If you have an Android phone it's pretty easy to extract the APK and sideload it onto your firestick/fire TV. I can't make any promises, but I've had good success with it.

I appreciate your advice. I just hooked up my first generation chromecast and it works fine. I just signed up for the free trial today. We'll see how I like it.
