WRAL has teamed up with Mohu for a FREE antenna giveaway so you can start getting their station again. If you're not familiar with Mohu they are based in Raleigh and make an excellent antenna that people who have cut the cord love. I have one and get about 26 local channels on it! It retails for around $60. If I were one of their customers and ever wondered about cord cutting I'd jump on this!
You have to bring your ID and a copy of your AT&T U-verse bill to get one. Offer only good next Monday and Tuesday at PNC arena. Here's all the details:
*With purchase of cable TV package of $59.99 for 24 month contract
“Free”
Where are you reading that it's with the purchase of a cable TV package??? This offer is between the antenna maker, Mohu, and WRAL. There is no cable package. That's the point! This is a great opportunity for people to get away from yet another scammer - AT&T, who btw are up to more no good with this move:
TV was always meant to be free. Cable and satelitte, while offering a plethora of channels, have made the costs ridiculous now.
I was paying $230 a month for internet, phone and cable. Now I get 26+ local channels for free with an antenna (a Mohu antenna, btw, just like the one being offered which retails for $60) and I pay less than $40 combined for Netflix, Hulu and Sling, all of which DO NOT require a contract. I can cancel any of them at will at any time and re-sign whenever I want if I want for however long I like. Internet is $70. I'm saving $120 every month. I like have an extra $120 a month at my disposal. It has served me well.
My apologies to all who read this thread for not saying from the get go the offer is ONLY for AT&T U-verse customers.
Did AT&T block WRAL because they live stream their news? Haven't been following....
No. All the cable/satelitte providers pull this crap every few years with the local affiliates when the contracts come up for renewal. I guess WRAL just got tired of it and now that they also stream and see it's value AND because Mohu antennas (which most cord cutters love and swear by) are headquartered in Raleigh, it was a great way to get their viewers their channel. I think it was a brilliant move!!!
Millions of people are cutting the cord. Why pay these crazy prices just to watch TV? I was tired of the chock hold and being lead around by the nose by them. Wised up last year and cut the cord. Wish I'd done it sooner, but I was scared it was all a hoax. Now I know better.
The Mohu Leaf works best when mounted on your window, at least with me.
I actually used to have it propped up on a shelf near a window after I scanned in the channels, but now finding tacking it to the wall is working great, and it's in the lower level of my split level home which a tv repair guy said I'd never pick up anything on it!!
