And btw, the two metro's are virtually the same population. And thats including Chapel Hill and Durham. So if Austin is too small, so is Raleigh. And the Triangle.

Raleigh CSA and Austin MSA have similar populations but dt Austin is obviously much more vibrant and bustling than dt Raleigh. Even dt Nashville is quite a bit more vibrant than Raleigh, with MSA @ 1.8m

Wow I had no idea the area north of Austin had so many people, honestly, it's such a wide open area. Pretty crazy their growth, only going to get bigger too. Neat place to live.

Of course, all good things must come to an end, in 5 billion years the Sun will start to expand and become a red giant and in 7.5 billion years from now the surface of the Sun will be past where Earth's orbit is now, so better start prepin'!
