I am on the Town of Cary email list. The following was the content of a message I received yesterday:

Full Release
The Town of Cary is asking the public to pause their holiday prepping and take a look at photos to possibly identify a trio suspected of stealing wallets from the purses of older women while grocery shopping. The most recent incident occurred on November 18 at 1151 Tryon Village Drive. At this time, a woman was engaged in conversation with one of the suspects in the group while another member of the group stole the wallet from the woman’s purse. After calmly leaving the grocery store, the suspects went to businesses in the immediate area to make large purchases like gift cards and electronics. Similar and possibly related incidents also occurred on October 25 at 1273 NW Maynard Road, where the suspects used a silver Chrysler Pacifica to flee the scene; and November 11 at 1273 NW Maynard Road and November 15 at 7145 O’Kelly Chapel Road, where the suspects used a newer model red Dodge Caravan.
Based on surveillance and witness statements, three people are believed to be involved in the criminal act: a white male in his mid-30s; a white female between the ages of 40-50; and a black female between 30-40 years old.
“While the crime pattern has been for these snatchings to occur at grocery stores, it’s important that shoppers remain vigilant wherever they make their purchases,” said Lt. Bruce Dale of Cary’s Criminal Investigations Division. Dale suggested the following tips while shopping this holiday weekend:
Keep your purse zipped closed and within sight at all times. Keep your wallet, cash and credit cards on your body and in a front pocket. Shop with a buddy, especially in the early morning or late night hours.
Immediately report suspicious activity to 911. Closely monitor your bank accounts online and report any fraudulent activity to your financial institution as well as your local law enforcement agency.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Town of Cary Police Department at (919) 469-4012 or file a report anonymously with Cary Crime Stoppers at (919) 460-4636. Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,500 for the arrest or indictment of those responsible for committing certain types of crimes. All calls will be kept CONFIDENTIAL at the caller's request.
Nice blond wig on the one. I wonder if that is really even a woman.
And one with the baseball cap could well be a woman with her hair stuffed up in the cap, from the photos. Clearly they are doing what they can to disguise themselves.
