Hey guys,
Thinking of switching to Virgin Mobile.
How is service in the triangle? And for anybody using them, how is the company overall?

Is the date truly unlimited?

Thanks!

We use Virgin Mobile and have no complaints. It is essentially Sprint. Even if you call the customer service they may answer the phone as Sprint. Their unlimited data does get throttled down to 3G once you hit 23G - I have never had a problem but I have a teen and once I got an email stating that he was close to the mark. Apparently he turned off wifi and was streaming videos and shows all the time.

Just downloaded an app for a speed test and this is what I got.
4.13 mbps Download
1.48 mbps upload
60 ms Ping

I couldn't tell you what that all means, but there you go.

Thanks

Not great but it's "unlimited", not sure what the price is.

We have Total and under Verizon get around 10-20 up and 5-10 down normally but only get 15gb data shared for two lines for $31/line.

CDMA 3G speeds are pretty slow. Under Net10 and ST on VZ towers I got 1.5mb on the best day. Normally about half that.

Among MVNOs, I'd look at Cricket Wireless (AT&T network) or Total Wireless (Verizon network).

Did it have to do with the fact that Net10 and ST get throttled speeds since they use Verizon towers?

The phone did have LTE up in the corner but I did notice that when doing the test it said Lenoir, NC - have no idea why.
