I don't know why WRAL is just realizing it...the Saturday makeup day coming tomorrow was announced two weeks ago when school was canceled for the previous storm.

Whenever friends and family up north make fun of the snow here, I show them that picture and all the memes that sprang up.
This isn't a new phenomenom. After the Infamous Ice storm of 2002 wiped out a week's worth of classes, Durham Public Schools decided to put a makeup day on Saturfay. They also did that the following year.
