Why doesn't Apple compound these problems?

The question is over-simplified. Scale and location impact the impact, of course.

Apple, with proposed 5000 employees will be suburban, centrally located in the Triangle so various municipalities will share the impact.

Amazon with proposed 50,000 employees prefers to be urban and that would create a mammoth impact that would be felt mostly by one city.

Apple is proposed to have 10,000 jobs. Are you saying that will have no impact on infrastructure and traffic in the Triangle?

I would stipulate that Life is more intriguing, more diverse, than black/white, zero/one, yes/no.
I guess we will need to come to agreement on that to have conversation.

I would personally profit from it with a paid for home in Five Points that I am planning on selling in a few years to retire to Morehead City, but it would not make Raleigh a better place to live imo.
Agreed.

Wherever Apple might land here, we can absorb them fairly easily in the ebb and flow of corporate employers and not become a Company Town, like Amazon could easily make Raleigh with an employee count that would absolutely dwarf aggregated employment numbers of many of our current top private employers.

Looks like Apple is all but a done deal, with details to be worked out.
Targeting NC540 @ Davis Drive.
Interesting that they could be considering 3 quadrants around the intersection. Great visibility, but access throughout the campus, divided by highway?

Adding 10,000 Apple employees will obviously add a burden to the area's infrastructure. Apple would be tied as the largest private employer in Wake and Durham Counties. The current infrastructure can't simply absorb that many more people without upgrades. Doesn't mean Apple would necessarily be a huge negative for the area, but being overly sanguine about its impact is not smart.

I think they plan to shuttle over all the Cisco and Netapp employees they’ll be stealing.

Where was the article this was from? That will be convenient since the latest thinking has the extension of 147 coming it to make an intersection with Little drive. Something similar to this.
