Literally every Android phone out there has the iPhone beat when you consider cost. But, please, keep buying Apple. If you ask, I own: a Google Chromebook for which I paid $150, an Essential phone with all the hardware that you can think of for which I paid $250 and a Samsung S2 Tablet for which I paid $200.
There is not a single new Android phone that can compete with the iPhone SE's $99 price point that I bought at last year (keep in mind I use a prepaid carrier and purchase phones in full outright and don't "lease" them). After testing a bunch of cheapie Android phones, I gave up and bought a 5S and then "upgraded" to an SE for $20 (sold the used 5S for $80, paid $99 for SE). That just is not possible to do with Android, believe me I tried to stay Android but Apple has everyone beat on the lower end spectrum.
Now if you are using "iPhone" to mean the brand new $1,000 phone, then yes I comeptley agree there are multiple options (which I stated in my post). But that wasn't the jist of my post - it's that Apple is doing a good job roping people in on the lower end and slowly getting them fully integrated as they pick up more products. It has nothing to do with Apple vs Android and which is better.

The iPhone SE is retailing at Verizon at $350 full price so I'm questioning your $99 price.......there had to be some way that price was billed later to you in a round about way.
Either that or you bought a used or refurbished phone that isn't brand new.

I recently tried an iPhone 7 but returned it and bought another brand new iPhone SE from Total Wireless for $129.
I found the 7 to be so much harder to hold and I dropped it a lot.
The SE is perfect one hand grip size with no need for a case with its squared off edge.
Fantastic 12mb camera.
I hope that Apple acknowledges those not wanting a phablet, and puts a no-bezel screen on the SE form factor.
I remember not want an iPhone 5 because of it was taller than my 4S.
Now the SE seems tiny, I'll bet Steve Jobs never envisoned such big devices.
Must have been a used/refurb/older model. I highly doubt a brand new iPhone, even under contract can be had for $99.
Target and Walmart sell brand new SE with Total Wireless, straight talk and track phone all for around $130.
And if any of you haven't moved to these prepaid services which are indistinguishable regarding service and 1/3 the price of Verizon, ATT with 2-3 time more data .using their exact same network...
You be a fool.
Total Wireless (100% Verizon) with 5G data mo. unlimited talk text is $ 33.50 per month.

That’s a great deal. But that’s still an outlier if you wanted to go with another network or an unlocked iPhone. Overall, iPhones are not better deals than Androids price wise.
I've been using prepaid. No connection issues. Ever. Only $35. Can't justify paying Verizon $100 for the same thing. I'm still on their network on my old Verizon phone.

It was $99 last year during Black Friday
After 12 months they unlock it, so when/if you upgrade later it will be worth more.
All their Android offerings are quite subpar. Very generic and low end.
