Basically looking for some feedback from folks who moved from Lehigh Valley/Poconos/Nepa part of Pennsylvania to RD Triangle area.

Comparisons? Likes? Dislikes? Happy you moved? Hate it etc.?

I hate Nepa weather and the cold so I know the NC weather goes in my plus column.

Thanks

Con: We just had 8-inches of snow.
Pro: It's going to be 60 on Sunday.

It's warmer in the winter, but it's also warmer in the summer.

You ok with 4-5 months of 90 degrees and humid?

I like the heat as long as I have access to a pool. Are pools common with houses there?

I would imagine RD area offers alot more from a cultural perspective and things to do. If any of you are familiar with Nepa it's a pretty depressed area.

Born in NEPA.
Lived in Honesdale, Tunkhannock as a kid. Lots of family in the area.

Moved to Cary from Lebanon PA in 1997.
Never looked back.

Moving from a depressed area to a booming economy was eye-opening.
Climate is a no-brainer.

Cool Mike, I know those areas well I find them so depressing from both a weather, cultural and economic standpoint.

Would any of the towns in RD resemble Clarks Summit? The only town I even like on Nepa.

You will have cultural differences anywhere in the triangle, and particularly in small towns.
Otherwise, you might consider Hillsborough, Pittsboro, Fuquay Varina, Knightdale,

Wake Forest and Apex are both about 40,000+, suburbia, with small town center.
I think Apex has better access to RTP and much of the larger cities.

But, I haven't been to Clarks Summit for years. Just picking smaller towns with access to larger towns.

Come down the first week of April, when you are looking at your Easter Snow.

Right now, I have daffodils sticking up about 10" out of the ground.
