The dog park on Lake Wheeler road? Where is that? I've lived on Lake Wheeler Road for 11 years and have never seen one.
Our neighborhood has no sidewalks, and a total of 1/4 mile of actual street. If you walk up and back it is 1/2 mile. They just built a new subdivision next to us, but you have to walk across a muddy field to get to it. Adding that in keeps us going for 30 minutes. That's the walk that my son does after school. No other neighborhoods nearby. Only farmland.
About your neighborhood: Ahhh, that makes sense. Sucks for the dog-walking aspect, but otherwise sounds like a nice (eg:"quiet") place to live. Sorry I couldn't help more with that part.... (I'm guessing 8 out and back laps of your road is "no bueno"....)
