Peking Garden at the intersection of six forks and millbrook is our favorite. And they remember you and provide excellent service. If you haven’t tried it yet you definitely should. Added bonus they use fresh ingredients and have no msg.

Agree with this, we toggle between there and Imperial, with a tilt in favor of Imperial. With both for a lot of dishes you have to request less corn starch or sauce as most dishes are smothered in it and a lot of it is too sweet and heavy. Still trying to find the right dishes and get the options right, both places gladly modify. Will reintroduce Red Dragon to call a 3-way faceoff.
There is a place for American Chinese, and it's great when it's good, but it barely resembles what you'd get in HK etc.
We stick mostly Cary/Apex/Morrisville. That being said we pretty much had it down to CT Wok and Banana Leaf. Both are great and family style. The duck at Banana Leaf is their specialty and is amazinnnggg!
That being said...we have found just Thai past weekend our new favorite Chinese place. That is Mr. Dumpling in Apex, where Lees Garden use to be. It was great. We had the Sesame Chicken, Lo Mein and a order of their dumplings. Loved it all. It was busy, but we got in very quickly. Only problem I've read about is their service but new places can be like that sometimes. I've never seen anything bad about their food. Can't wait to go back. It is our official Chinese place now. Unless of course I want duck, then Banana Leaf.

That's our problem with today's Chinese food...too much heavy sauce. We always get takeout, so when I get it home my wife puts it in the spinner and removes most of it. Maybe I'll request less next time

Now I wish I didn't let the cat out of the bag about Mr. Dumpling on these boards . I have no connection to them whatsoever, but the place REALLY is that good. Everything on the menu we've tried so far has been just excellent.

I can't wait to go. I've never really been to Apex so will make a day of it.

Are you now trying to "dupe" us about how good Mr. Dumpling is so you can keep the secret all to yourself?
