Those tow guys don't care but your son was totally in the wrong trying to drive off if he was hooked up. normally they would unhook for a lesser fee.

Good luck I have an insured whose car was towed in a similar situation and they did damage to HIS car.

It's Unlimited Recovery, I think it's not against forum rules to mention.

I think the one owned by a former RPD is a different one.

Wish we lived in Durham where the property damage accusation would be
a non chargeable offense. Oh wait, that is just if the judge & DA agree with the
reason for the property damage.

Briefly..we didn't time it.
But we were back & forth to it bringing in bags & equipment.

We were 10 ft away in the garage when the tow truck pulled up.

The trucks always seem to only be seconds away. And moving your vehicle while the driver is preparing to tow it will often result in an altercation. Sone vehicles have been towed legally, for expired registrations, etc. And some have been towed while doors and trunks are open and groceries being unloaded. It's a sticky situation.
Go to your next HOA meeting and demand that the tow contract be cancelled.

A new contract should require a specified person or persons to call the tow company to request a particular violation be addressed. Do not allow the tow contractor to grab victims at will.
