Two of my favorite places, Pho Vietnam and Neomonde are below 90 and I couldn't care less. They're both fabulous.
Agreed!
I don't get worried until I see mid-80's. Low 80's, I'll double up on my pro-biotics and jump in, if it's good enough food.
A lot of deductions have nothing to do with the food itself. I really don't care if there the dry-storage shelves need a new coat of paint. (I do care if they are cutting raw chicken on salad prep areas, or if they are not dating their food in the cooler.)
Someone here was saying they wouldn't go to anywhere lower than a 96 IIRC. Since then I've been I've been dubious of anything in the lower 90s and probably would consider anything lower than that.
After a severe health situation, I was advised to use the following guide:
Forget self-serve or buffet-style no matter what the score
If the score is 90 or below, pass
Take the last number and treat it as the grade, just like you would have in school.
Yes, I do give the mid-grades some slack - I do like to dine out at times, after all! I'm sure my home kitchen would fail grading, but I'm not feeding hundreds if not thousands of people a week (young, old, tough or vulnerable) - just me and my shadow.
(meanwhile, Alamo is at 95.5 in East Raleigh if anybody wants an alternative option haha)
Did they not clean up the blood spatter from the stabbing?
/inappropriate sarcasm.
The whole concept is a little over-done/not worth it IMO. I do enjoy the more comfortable/pre-assigned seating for sure. But with Silverspot, Franks, Cinebestro, Alamo Drafthouse all opening as "Watch and dine" concepts in the past few years and Crossroads and Southpoint now converting to that model...IDK just seems like a fad more than an evolution. The food just isn't that great and so incredibly over-priced. The only one I've legit been impressed with/would return to for ordering food and watching the movie is Alamo..which ironically is the furthest from where I currently live.
With the exception of Alamo....all of the current food-service theaters have sit-down and fast-casual restaurants that are a much better value/quality food nearby...like in the same parking lot.
Frank's in Cary isn't even doing watch and dine anymore. That place is an absolute disaster, I don't know what happened.
I think it depends on who is working or time of day. I keep hearing this, but the last two times we have gone we've done watch and dine. The biggest difference from when they first opened is that you have to place your order at the concession stand- they don't come take it in the theatre.

Right...there's no service in the theatre. You place your order at concession and maybe they bring it to you, but that's it. It used to be that you showed up before the movie to eat, and had full service in the theatre until the movie started. Unless I'm getting mixed up with Cinebistro.
