I've been searching farmland prices in Granville County and noticed some areas are quite high---over $15,000 per acre. I'm wondering if anyone knows the reason for such high prices. I read in a major newspaper recently that private foundations are using their excess money to purchase raw farmland outside of major metropolitan areas where the population is expected to rise significantly over the next several years. Perhaps this is occuring in Granville County and can explain the high prices?

Default There’s nothing to see here

The corrupt banks involved in predatory lending practices have to spend their ill gotten gains on something so they’ve opted in on the swindle that is Granville County real-estate. Any honest person with half a brain will steer clear of Granville County so don’t expect prices for residential real-estate to go up there in the foreseeable future.

Default prices around $7,000 an acre

Not sure where you are looking or how you are looking, but prices I've seen are around $7,000 an acre. I'll shoot you a link of a good site for farmland.

Default Wow, no love for Granville County!

What do you have against Granville County? I'm not a huge fan of the triangle in general, but I've certainly enjoyed living in Southern Granville Co. Very quiet with a 20 min commute to RTP.
