Did anyone else see this? At around 4pm today (Friday) on 540 westbound right after exit 24 (Knightdale Blvd/64), I see a line of 7 state trooper police cars on the shoulder and my Valentine V1 radar detector is going off -they are shooting Ka band. I was going 77 and luckily nobody moved for me.

About 10 seconds later, there are numerous police cars littered on the shoulder that have pulled over people, and I am not kidding, probably another 10-15 police cars on the shoulder with their lights on and pulled cars over. I saw this all the way to the Buffaloe Rd exit or 401/Louisburg Rd exit. But a lot of these police cars were not state troopers, but saw Apex police and even Morrisville police cars along with Raleigh police cars (which do have jurisdiction there).

So basically they allowed all the different towns to participate in a massive speed trap today? Is that what this was? If so, then that's awesome!

Something needs to be done about the super speeding in the area, aggressive driving and lack of enforcement. So many people get away with whatever they want to do during driving in this area. There are speed traps in the area that everybody already knows and are quite useless. Of course, having 1 massive speed trap won't do anything but it was quite a scene!

Correct, I want all speeders caught, including me. There is absolutely no enforcement here compared to my previous residence, so what do people do? They speed without fear.

You highly doubt this was a multi-jurisdiction speed trap? Then why did I see police cars from Apex and Morrisville?

80 in a 70 on a huge three lane highway isn't really that big of a deal....45 in a 30 is. Priorities...

Because it was multi-jurisdiction, but for another reason.

I could be wrong, I said "I highly doubt it"

Use the waze app and was alerted way before. Police dept. needs the money I guess hence reason for speed trap.

Or maybe police want to actually make sure the laws are followed, which are put into place for reason.

I saw it too. Saw a cop on an overpass with radar. I was surprised to see a fuquay cop and an apex cop both with someone pulled over.

What other reason could there be other than to have a massive speed trap that is a rampant problem in this area?

You said, "I highly doubt this was a multi jurisdiction APB massive speed trap that you saw."

Therefore, you "highly doubt" the was multi-jurisdictional in their goal of a massive speed trap? Then you say, "I could be wrong, I said "I highly doubt it." What does that even mean?

Bottom line, any way you slice it - NC State Troopers somehow organized police officers from the Triangle towns to participate in a massive speed trap today. I'm happy and pleased with that they did!

I really don't understand your complaining about speeding, when you were speeding.
